chevy chase colonial

Just before closing on their first home, this young family of four engaged our team to refresh this 1939 colonial in order to better suit their more contemporary aesthetic. Throughout their spaces, we used jewel tones to build on the traditional bones and architectural features of the house.

A sapphire sofa and deep merlot built-ins immediately draw you into the living room from the entryway. We wrapped the dining room in a dusty cerulean blue to provide an approachable but dramatic backdrop for the neutral furnishings. A full wall of custom wardrobes was added to the primary bedroom to increase functionality, and the entire room was painted in warm grays to create an enveloping retreat. In the den, we designed a gallery wall centered around the couple’s love for San Francisco and her New Mexican heritage. Soothing tones and an earthier palate make this the perfect room for the whole family to enjoy together.
