silver spring renovation

One of our biggest renovation projects to-date, this small-but-charming Silver Spring cottage had great bones but was in need of a major update. We preserved lasting architectural details, including the original oak hardwoods and casement windows, complementing them with modern touches for a seamless blend of old and new. Throughout the home, creamy white walls with a coordinating tonal trim provide a neutral backdrop for rich chocolate brown, rust, and mustard. Largely contemporary spaces are elevated with traditional nods, including tailored upholstery, vintage finds, and antique finishes. Terracotta floor tile, brass fixtures, and a plaster hood lend organic warmth to the kitchen. The neighboring dining area is intentionally informal with a large oval table, built-in banquette seating, and sculptural light fixture. Upstairs, the completely transformed primary suite is straight out of a storybook. Walnut nightstands, ivory curtains, and a scalloped headboard ground delicate, layered bedding. The closet-turned-en suite features soothing sandy tones, a dramatic marble mosaic shower, and a custom vanity that mimics the arched doorways throughout the home.
